I've been admiring this purple berried shrub for a few weeks now when I walk my brother's dog. I took a photo and have just discovered it's called Callicarpa or Beautyberry. A very fitting name. I'll have to see if I can find space in my garden to grow one of these as they are so attractive.

Jacqui, first let me say I'm so glad to hear from you. I checked back from time to time and I was concerned. But I guess I haven't checked back for awhile because I see you have been back since at least November and I'm so glad. Hope you are doing well and thanks for your kind words to me. We will be gone for a month and since I don't have a laptop, I will be taking lots of pictures and sharing when I get back. Hope you have a very Merry Christmas and make lots of butternut squash.
